The Utah High School Hockey community is deeply saddened for Kyle and Karsen Wight, players for the Brighton High School Hockey Team who lost both of their parents, Bob and Dawn in an auto accident on their way to a hockey tournament in Colorado. This tragedy not only affects the Brighton hockey team but the entire Salt Lake and Boise hockey communities as both boys played for multiple travel teams.
Kyle and Karson both sustained injuries but are expected to make a full recovery. They are currently in a hospital in the Denver area with two incredible, strong and caring coaches from the WCR program. After some effort from the authorities in Denver, family members from out of state were notified and traveled to Denver as quick as possible to be with the boys on Friday evening.
A GOFUND me account has been set-up to help the family with finances. We are also looking in to additional fund raising opportunities and will share this information as soon as we have details.
