Denise Hevner, team manager for Salt Lake Stars, is nominated by Utah Hockey Club for the NHL/NHLPA Most Valuable Teacher. Every season each team selects a teacher to represent their team, and then it goes to the voters for the winners. Let's help make sure Denise, and Utah Hockey Club wins!!
Denise teaches welding for Salt Lake City School District, out of HIghland High School. She has been teaching for over 17 years. She has even been able to incorporate hockey into the classroom!
As a team manager for Salt Lake Stars for the past two seasons, Denise has been invaluable to the team with her wonderful attitude, connection with the players, and her social media skills. She has been involved with hockey for over 8 years volunteering for her son's hockey teams, and started to play herself two years ago.
