2026-27 Bountiful Redhawks High School Team
Season Overview
The Bountiful Redhawks High School hockey program will be fielding a Varsity and JV team during the 2026-27 season. Registration as a player, coach or volunteer is a three-step process.
Step 1 - USA Hockey Registration
1. A current USA Hockey membership is required of all players, coaches and team volunteers (2026-27 membership). Before registering with UHSH, complete your 2026-27 USA Hockey membership. USA Hockey membership levels can be found here: https://membership.usahockey.com/
2. All players and coaches who are 17+ years of age in 2026 will need to complete their USA Hockey SafeSport training before they can participate with the team. https://www.usahockey.com/safesporttraining
Step 2 - Utah High School Hockey League Registration - All players must first register with Utah High School Hockey (UHSH) at www.utahhighschoolhockey.com. Team, grade and eligibility status are verified by UHSH personnel. A birth certificate is necessary only for players who have not played in a USA Hockey program in the past.
The League fee is $210 per player is due at the time of registration with UHSH.
Players are placed on their boundary team as determined by the UHSH Board of Trustees: https://www.utahhighschoolhockey.com/boundaries. The UHSH registration fee covers expenses related to administering the league. Expect this registration to open around July 15.
Step 3 – Bountiful Hockey Team Registration - Bountiful Hockey team fees will be $750+ per player. We are still calculating costs as of this writing. The Team Fees can be paid during the online registration platform (TeamSnap) or offline by making payment arrangements with the team Trustee. The team fee covers expenses related to fielding a Varsity and JV team, practice ice rental, team supplies, team building activities, training and other team-related expenses, such as Senior Night, End of Season Banquet, team photos and more. A Bountiful Hockey registration link should be ready by July 15.
UHSH Player, Coach and Volunteer Registration will open in mid-July and closes in early to mid- December. The online registration link can be found at https://www.utahhighschoolhockey.com/home
Volunteers
All volunteers must register with USA Hockey as a volunteer. The volunteer registration is free. It will not allow one to be on the bench, ice or serve as a locker room.
Coaching
Those interested in coaching should reach out to coach Jimmy Burns. burnsy27@gmail.com
Team Practices
The team will practice on “A” days according to the Davis School District Calendar. We will have practices on all “A” days except Fridays. Practices will be from 6 am to 7 am at the South Davis Recreation Center. *Due to the early morning practice, we will have a sign-up tool for parents to bring a *breakfast item and beverage at least once during the season, if they are able. A parent volunteer will be distributing a SignUpGenius.com link for parents to sign up should they choose to participate. Providing team breakfast is voluntary.
JV Holiday Tournament*
Bountiful Hockey is planning to enter a team into a holiday tournament and potentially host a tournament at the South Davis Recreation Center rink over the winter break. Spots may be limited and therefore available on a first come first serve basis.
Team Building Activities*
The coaching staff is identifying varsity team captains this summer. Captains will work with the team leadership to coordinate summer team building activities.
We plan to host team dinners at approximately four Varsity home games at SDRC, depending on the number of home games scheduled at the Bountiful rink. The team has also set aside funds for meals on weekend game days when traveling to Logan, Vernal, or Cedar City. We will also plan a winter holiday team party and an end-of-season banquet. We will be asking parent volunteers to assist with these activities.
Game Uniforms, Practice Jersey & Socks, Warm-Ups*
Plan is to change vendors this season to Pure Hockey Team Sales. Will try to match the current uniform so those with a uniform do not have to purchase a new one. Will only buy the 3rd jersey if we get a large donation or every parent is willing to purchase a 3rd jersey.
Team Communications
The team leadership aims to conduct all team business communications through the TeamSnap email and chat features in accordance with Safesport guidelines. We encourage players to establish a coach/player rapport as part of their player and character development with Bountiful Hockey. However it is important that players always include a parent/guardian on all communications with any Bountiful Hockey adult involved with the team.

Dear USA Hockey members and parents,
The U.S. Center for SafeSport has produced Youth Athlete Training courses that are available for minor-age athletes. These resources include courses for kids and youth athletes. These free online trainings are designed as an introduction for minor athletes and their parents or other caregivers.
Each course can be found HERE and requires that a parent/legal guardian create an account to provide consent for their child to access the training. Each course will take less than 30 minutes to complete. A writeable PDF certificate is available at the conclusion of each training, and parents are encouraged to write their child's name on the printed certificate. These courses are not required but are available as a resource.
NOTE: These courses are not required for participation and USA Hockey is notrecording or tracking a person’s completion of the courses.
Thank you again for all of your efforts in support of the safety of participants in USA Hockey programs.

These courses are free and are conducted online, with age-specific content depending on the age of the parent’s children. The courses provide an introduction for parents or other caregivers to understand the importance of positive, welcoming environments in sports, to minimize the opportunities for misconduct or abuse to happen, and to know where to report abuse, should it occur. The training includes a downloadable guide for parents with age-appropriate content.
Each course will take less than 30 minutes to complete. A writeable PDF certificate is available at the conclusion of each training. These courses are not required but are available as a resource. Click on the applicable link below to access the training: www.athletesafety.org
